Thoughts in mind (15/03/09)

With many different thoughts going through my head at the moment I felt like I would like to take a moment to make a note, and the isn’t a better place than here.

Codename ‘Manchester’

The codename has come about because of a surprise 18th celebration that I am organising. While I can’t say much on here because the ‘birthday boy’ may stumble upon this post before the weekend I WILL be updating during and after the weekend activities, especially if I manage to wake up before the morning train takes us home again.
So even though birthday boy has handed me money to go on this trip he is completely clueless about what is happening, hence the codename. No we are not going to Manchester, or are we? He has been told to pack for a weekend and be at the train station for a specific time. Anyone got a blindfold that I can borrow?

Illness

Hopefully not changing any of the above, I am currently in bed on my laptop while trying to get all the ‘rest’ I can. I have the most painful stomach possible and don’t really feel like moving. Apparently drinking, eating and dancing are not a good idea in my condition. I found this out at 8am this morning.

Time off Work

Well although off for the 18th I also have a few days before and after for ‘preparation’ and ‘recovery’. During this time I plan to continue learning and creating a new website for a friend and make a few purchases for my laptop which I will talk about below.

Upgrade me…..again

I have never owned a laptop, until now. My parents recently upgraded their laptop to something that is supposed to be quicker and more reliable. So my they kindly donated their old laptop to a charity called ‘Thomtom’ for a bottle of wine. After changing the power jack and upgrading the CPU and RAM, oh and getting a new battery I plan to get my final toy. Ta ta ta daaaaa, a USB digital dual TV Tuner, OK so maybe the little introduction was more than needed but I will now be able to watch/Record TV on the move with the helping hand of a USB HDD. That will give me something to do while everyone is having an afternoon nap in Manchester.

Cars can cost

As some of you may already know, I have been driving around in my little Corsa after passing my test for about 10 months. Before I continue I would like to make it clear that I am not a boy racer and my car is completely stock. After 10 months the car has reached it’s time for the dreaded MOT. I was quietly confident about my car passing but wouldn’t collapse if told that it needed some work, after all it is 12 years old. In the morning I nervously hand over the keys to the test centre. Around 11am I am called saying that the car has FAILED and needs allot of welding work. Welding, what the hell is wrong? So we agree that the car will go in and have the work done next week costing just over £200, yes £200 of welding!

Wonderful stories have to end somewhere

So with all this floating around my mind I have a few things to complete this upcoming week, and also an expensive week. Thank god for the saving, oh hang on what savings!
