My Christmas

Although I’m sure all the talk of xmas is dying away I decided that I’d rather tell my story late than never. This year, like most years so far, consisted of being at home with my parents, its an exciting life.

Thinking a sleep-in was the key to a good christmas all got off to a bad start, christmas started at 7am this year! And thats not the little beings in the home.

Computer HDD RAID Purchase

After having problems with my hard drives I have decided that it is time to look into a bit of security for my data. I have decided that I want to able to store allot more DVD’s onto my machine (before you ask, yes legally). But how can I have a quick OS and large amounts of data that is safe? This question has taken many hours of thinking and research but I think I have finally come to a conclusion.

I realised that if a problem arises then re-installing windows may not be such a bad thing, after all its good to do now and again and doesn’t take very long when you have all your drivers and software installs to hand.

My Free Software World

After one of my Raid zero hard drives failed windows was no longer usable, so I have decided to use windows XP short-term and run an experiment.

I am going to install XP and only use software that can be legally found on the Internet for FREE. The computer must be usable and must not restrict the user because of the software. So moving on, I installed XP which was a minefield of problems from removing my old raid configuration to ‘overclocking failures’.
