11 Reasons to build your next computer
Do you usually buy your computer pre built from the shelf in the store? Maybe it is time to consider buying components and building your next dream machine. Often said to be complicated and geeky, building your computer using components can have many benefits.
- You can build a machine to a specification you require and splash out on a specific part if needed.
- Personal to you, no longer are you restricted by the often bland cases that manufactures provide. There are hundreds of cases out there to choose from to house that computer goodness.
- Pride, there is a certain sense of pride that you get from using a PC that you built yourself
- You can choose exactly how much money you would like to spend, pre-built machines often have a large jump in price between models
- You can upgrade an individual component when technology moves on or fails
- Each component has it’s own warranty so you only have to send an individual item away if it breaks under warranty. This allows you to buy a cheap part for use while your part is away.
- OK, slightly geeky, but you can brag. For some reason people are always impressed
- If you have working parts that are still up to date they can often re-use those parts, for example an optical drive.
- You built it, you know how it works, you know how to diagnose problems. Don’t you?
- The overall cost is usually lower.
- Last and most importantly, it is FUN.
Let me know in the comments if you build your own computers and if and if so let me know any points that I have missed.
